Backing for Crow Point Festival

The Crow Point Festival, which was launched on Friday June 23, has been warmly endorsed by the President of the Friends of the Transporter Bridge, Rosemary Butler AM.

The festival, which takes place in September, is being held to mark the centenary of the opening of the bridge.

The AM for Newport West said, “The Transporter Bridge was an engineering masterpiece in its day and the people of Newport are as proud of it now as they were then.

"The fact that it still survives intact is a tribute to the people who have worked so hard to preserve it, and the idea of holding a festival is a wonderful way of recognising all that has been achieved.”
